Book Review | One True Loves by Taylor Reid |

Hey Everyone,

One True Loves by Taylor Reid

In her twenties, Emma Blair marries her high school sweetheart, Jesse. They build a life for themselves, far away from the expectations of their parents and the people of their hometown in Massachusetts. They travel the world together, living life to the fullest and seizing every opportunity for adventure.

On their first wedding anniversary, Jesse is on a helicopter over the Pacific when it goes missing. Just like that, Jesse is gone forever.

Emma quits her job and moves home in an effort to put her life back together. Years later, now in her thirties, Emma runs into an old friend, Sam, and finds herself falling in love again. When Emma and Sam get engaged, it feels like Emma’s second chance at happiness.

That is, until Jesse is found. He’s alive, and he’s been trying all these years to come home to her. With a husband and a fiancé, Emma has to now figure out who she is and what she wants, while trying to protect the ones she loves.

Who is her one true love? What does it mean to love truly?

Emma knows she has to listen to her heart. She’s just not sure what it’s saying.

I have been following Taylor Jenkins Reid on Instagram and I had no idea that she is a published author. And I say One True Loves, I thought it was a very interesting original storyline that I had not seen in books before and I was very curious to pick it up. It took a while for me to get the book and then read it but once I opened to the first page I was hooked. I spent almost four hours reading this book and I felt liberated.
I have been in a reading funk when the books on my TBR are not peaking my interest. After finishing this book it gave me a push to read more books.

This book is a great read if you want to escape into someone else's life. The struggle that Emma goes through in the book is a mind fuck on confusion, you see her life with Jesse and her life with Sam but what you can also see is a change in character. While Jesse was gone for three and a half years, it took a long time for Emma to adjust moving on, believing him to be dead, she found someone who she also really liked and someone who made her happy. Then when she see's Jesse again, every memory she had about him is flooding back to her. It's like remembering that what you do right now is different to what you did like five years ago.
I think this book made me think about certain choices that I wanted for myself and how much my opinion has changed for it.

It's a great book about love and finding who you want to be with, I highly recommend it.

Hope you're having a lovely day
