Wrap-Up (65-70)

I am going to be sharing 5 books that I have read this blog post. This blog will be quite short compared to my previous wrap up's in the last remaining months.

So here we go

Book 66 - When Marnie Was There by Joan G. Robinson

Goodreads Star Rating: 4/5

I have already written a full blog post review of this book (see here)

Book 67 - Outlander by Diana Gabaldon

Goodreads Star Rating: 4/5

I was reading this book for the Pokemon Indigo League #ReadThemAllThon that happened at the end of August and beginning of September but I was unfortunate to finish the book in the final week. But regardless I was quite into the book and continued on after.

I think I was spoilt from the TV series. I had already been watching the TV series when I purchased Outlander but when I picked up the book a couple of weeks ago, I had already known the plot and the storyline which made me slow down reading.

As much as I enjoyed reading the book and going into the fictional world of Claire and Jamie, I kept picki…

When Marnie Was There by Joan G. Robinson
Released: January 1967.
Published Edition: July 2014

I picked this book up for the Pokemon Indigo League #ReadThemAllThon. This book was for the Cascade Badge which was a book that will make you cry, and this book did. I didn't include this book in my wrap up, mostly because I had posted it midday on Sunday and I finished the book that evening. So in total I read 6 books out of the 7 I challenge …

Slowathon Readathon

I had recently heard about this readathon through Dana over on TheBookHoarder on Youtube and I started to look into it.
The readathon is hosted by Marlin Elina from her Youtube channel (Video see here). The readathon is a week long, from 12th-18th September. Marlin has even created a Twitter account with hashtags #booksnail #slowathon
She explains in the video that through every readathon it's always about quantity of books (The amount of books read in a certain amount of time) but with this readathon, it's going to be about the quality of reading. Setting a pace for yourself and enjoying the book you are reading instead of rushing to complete your goal.
She has written some prompts which can help you with your reading process.

1) Read a book and mark it up! (Tabs, notes, underlining, etc.) 2) Create something inspired by the book you're reading! (Examples: write a poem, a song, do a sketch, a dance routine, a painting...) 3) Do a buddy read (with booktube or real life frie…

#ReadThemAllThon/August Wrap Up (61-65)

3 weeks, 8 Challenges and 7 books.

From the 14th August 2016 to the 4th September 2016 I took part in the Pokemon Indigo League #ReadThemAllThon hosted by Aentee also known as Read At Midnight.

I completed  out of 8 challenges and I am quite proud of myself. I haven't taken part of a read-a-thon before and it was so much fun to take part of this one.

I also chose a Pokemon along with this readathon and I chose Vulpix. Vulpix was one of my favourite Pokemon in the original 150. She was even able to evolve into Ninetales with  424CP.

The first book I read was Shadow of Night by Deborah Harkness from the All Souls Trilogy. This book was for the Flame Badge (A book with a red cover).
I am so happy to have picked this book up. I adored the first book and I am so happy that I was able to get time to read the sequel.
This book picks off from the end of ADOW. Matthew and Diana travel back to 1591 when Queen Elizabeth the first reigned. It takes a while for Diana to adjust with the new di…

Book Haul No. 16

If you only read the books that everyone else is reading, you can only think what everyone else is thinking. ― Haruki MurakamiNorwegian Wood

A bit of a mix of books this month. I have recently calculated how many books I have been getting and comparing to the ones I have already read and I buy more than I am reading (Shocked? I'm not) I am going to do a book ban, I know that I have said I would cut down on my book purchases but seeing the numbers in black and white made me realise that it is a good option at the time being. Hopefully I will succeed until the end of the year, which is my goal and I have written rules in my Bullet Journal which I am determined to abide.

Justice League Dark Volume 3 The Death Of Magic

This is the only comic book in this book haul. It's been a while since I have picked up a comic. I am excited to pick this up. Continuing from the end of the Volume 2, we are reunited with Constantine, Zatanna, Deadman and Madam Xanadu.
