ขนม (Thai Desserts)

So recently my mum brought home some Thai desserts and when I was little I was slightly afraid of them due to how it is made and they looked a little odd.

The first dessert  is called  Khanom Thuay ขนมถ้วย (Thai Coconut Custard) this is considered as street food and it is very easy to eat. It is made with coconut milk custard, it is shaped as mini sized bowls and they are lovely. It has a very soft texture when you take the first bit bite, it has a taste of coconut and I think it tasted like a crispy biscuit roll.

The second dessert is called Khanom Chun ขนมชั้น (Thai Jelly). This dessert is the layered dessert in Thailand and is considered to be used in special ceremonies. This is made out of sugar, coconut milk and flour and set to harden. This dessert taste similar to the one above but I definitely prefer this one.

There are tons of other desserts that I want to try and hopefully I will get the time to find them and write them on here.

I have been thinking of taking a trip to Thailand nest year and I hope I get to do some more posts about them.

Both these desserts were made by one of my mum's friends but you can also purchase them in an Asian Market. Go to your nearest Asian shop and purchase some of these and give it a try.

I hop you enjoy and look forward to my next post :) xx
